History
1997
The history of tattooing and body piercing at the corner of Klimentská and Revoluční Streets dates back to 1997. Within the premises of the then skate shop Mother&Fucker, owned by Jirka Záveský and Martin Rittenauer, Tribo Studio occupied a spare room where Tribo founder Michal Burda performed the first piercing and tattoo artist Tarlio created the first tattoo.
2000
Until then, Tribo had been based in the iconic Joshua Hair Salon on Slovenská Street. In 2000, the studio became fully independent and established itself in Klimentská Street as a complete tattoo, piercing, and hairdressing salon. In the same year, Punky joined Tribo and, under the guidance of co-owner Jarda Králíček, evolved from an enthusiastic amateur into a professional piercer.
2015
In 2015, Tribo parted ways with its hairdressing section, and the former salon space was converted into additional workstations for tattoo artists.
2024
In 2024, Michal and Jarda handed over the Klimentská premises to Punky, who, together with his long-time friend Sigi, founded Root Down Studio and began writing a new chapter in the unique story of this iconic location.
Over the years, the studio on Klimentská Street has welcomed countless tattoo artists from both the Czech and international scenes. Together, they have used litres upon litres of ink and left their mark on thousands of clients.
Alongside the local piercers, who have performed tens of thousands of procedures, they have helped establish this location as one of the most significant places for tattoo and body piercing culture in the region.
